The University of York campus is located within walking distance of York City Centre. The Heslington campus is home to the University's nine colleges and the majority of its departments. The city of York is full of beauty and culture and is easily accessible from anywhere in the UK.
Getting to York
Fast and frequent train services to York operate every day from London King’s Cross station. Direct services also run between York, Leeds and Manchester Airport. For train fares and travelling times, visit the National Rail website. A taxi rank can be found just outside the railway station. Taxi rides to the University take approximately 15 minutes.
Bus and coach
National Express runs frequent services to York from London and various cities in the UK. For coach fares and travelling times, visit the National Express website.
It is recommended that students and visitors to the University approach the campus from the junction of the A64 and A1079 to the east of the city. Directions to the university will be clearly signposted.
